Privacy Policy

Overview
Formattly (formattly.com) provides free browser-based developer utilities. This policy explains what we do and do not collect. It is written to match how the site actually works — not generic legal boilerplate for a product we do not run.
More about the project: About Formattly.
Client-side tool processing
Tool features (formatting JSON, generating IDs, converting PEM/JWK or .env files,
parsing HAR, building CSP strings, and similar) run in your browser with JavaScript and, where
needed, the Web Crypto API. We do not operate a Formattly backend that receives the
content you paste into tools. That paste stays in the page’s memory on your device
unless you choose to copy it elsewhere yourself.
We do not sell, rent, or otherwise trade the text or files you enter into Formattly tools — because that content is not uploaded to us as part of normal tool use.
Hosting and request logs
The website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages (and related Cloudflare network services). Like most static hosts and CDNs, Cloudflare may process standard web request metadata such as IP address, user agent, URL requested, referrer, and timestamps for delivery, security, and abuse prevention. Formattly does not maintain a separate application database of your tool pastes.
For Cloudflare’s own practices, see Cloudflare’s privacy documentation on their website.
Advertising, cookies, and consent
Formattly is free to use. We may display third-party advertising through Google AdSense (publisher ID associated with this site) to help cover hosting and development. Ad technology may use cookies, local storage, or similar identifiers to measure and (where allowed) personalize ads.
Depending on your location, a consent management experience (CMP) or Google’s consent messaging may ask you to accept or reject certain advertising cookies before personalized ads are shown. You can also review Google’s ad settings and browser controls for cookies. Blocking or limiting ads/cookies may change what you see but does not change the client-side nature of the tools.
Ads on tool pages are placed after the main interactive panel so the utility remains usable first.
Analytics and other scripts
Beyond hosting and advertising scripts required to serve the site and ads, we aim to keep the footprint small (vanilla HTML/CSS/JS for tools). If we add a separate analytics product later, this policy will be updated to name it and describe what it collects.
Children’s privacy
Formattly is aimed at a general technical audience and is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the tools. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us via email contact, please email us and we will delete that correspondence where appropriate.
Changes to this policy
We may update this page when the site’s hosting, advertising, or features change. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the site after an update means you should read the revised policy.
